Mission Statement
The United Ryukyu Kempo Alliance is an organization formed to bring sincere Martial Artists together in brotherhood. A group of Martial Artists who believe in the traditional concept of One Heart, One Mind and One Spirit who uplift each other with pride in friendship. An Alliance of Karateka who unite together to represent and promote all that is good in traditional karate.
Ryukyu Kempo Karate is an Okinawan Martial Art created by Taika Seiyu Oyata and passed on to Allan Amor Kaicho. It is a complete life protection system, focusing on striking, joint manipulation, and pressure points. Ryukyu Kempo also includes training in Kobudo (Traditional Okinawan Weapons), with 11 weapons in our system. Our focus is on the mind, body, and spirit, strengthening mental and physical resilience and creating a good moral character.
The Shubu Kan Dojo is a member of the United Ryukyu Kempo Alliance (URKA). The Alliance is run by Allan Amor Kaicho and is headquartered in Oak Grove, Missouri. URKA Dojos can be found in several regions of the United States, to include Missouri, Iowa, Texas, Arizona, Florida, and New York, as well as Canada and New Zealand.
The Shubu Kan Dojo started in June 2018 on Fort Drum. After the Covid outbreak of 2020, we decided to move off post to a larger facility, and for better access to the greater community. We are now located just outside of Watertown, New York. Shubu Kan means "The Warriors' School of Life Protection Arts."
